Beginning with the strongest of female visionaries, co-owners Jana and Sonali were lead to quench a new thirst that the tequila industry desperately craved: to defy what a strong business owner looked like, and make it, not one but, two fearless females.

ABOUT JANA IYER

Jana strived to pursue a dream of her own since coming to the United States about 20 years ago to complete her Master’s degree. She worked toward becoming a CEO at a hospital and climbing the corporate ladder. She gave up the hospital to chase after the alluring world of tequila. With no experience in the industry, she showed a determination to show that women of any background can conquer their wildest dream.

ABOUT SONALI PATELSonali Patel, co-owner of FINO Tequila, knew from a young age that she had an entrepreneurial spirit and was determined to make her mark in the world of business. She grew up seeing her father's passion and commitment to commerce, and was inspired by the value driven success she encountered. She saw that businesses can change lives, communities, and the world at large, and immediately knew that it was her calling. As someone who loves a good sipping drink, Sonali decided to turn her fondness for tequila into a sustainable company dedicated to promoting tequila's rich cultural history and using it as a vessel to empower women in business. She lives and breathes the company's motto Failure Is Not an Option.

Being a women-owned alcohol company in a predominantly male industry, they want to help break the barriers to entry for other women looking to find their place in this space. The name FINO is an acronym for —Failure Is Not an Option— the meaning dating back to the same words reportedly spoken during the 1970 Apollo 13 mission. With the brand, they hope to empower other women and men that they can also achieve their dreams through the FINO mindset and lifestyle, embracing that Failure Is Not an Option.
